My mother once again displayed her inability to comprehend more than the simplest expressions of the English language. In our last episode, you'll recall I was told of a job being created, one which is uniquely suited to me, but would require my return to the greater Chicagoland area. In considering whether to apply for it (which I did,) one of several factors which make the move (and thus the job) attractive is that almost all of my friends live back there. Nothing was ever said or revealed that make that factor overwhelming, reason enough in and of itself to move back. Nothing.

Today, I talked to my mom on the phone, and passed along the update from Friday (no news is no news.) She asks if I don't get it, if I'd be sending out resumes around the area, right? Where, San Diego? Sure. No, she meant Chicago. Whatever gave her that impression? Oh, all my friends are back there. So what? So what indeed. And here we are.
