It's not dry...

...it's empty. In one of those rare circumstances for me in life, I actually wrote a pen empty. I'm usually so absentminded that I lose them long before I come close to using them up. But I tend to lose things less often that I religously carry in my pocket.

A couple of years ago, I settled on these Zebra F-301 retractable pens to keep in my pocket. They're fine-point black pens, which work well for filling out forms and the lineup portions of scoresheets, not to mention signing my (long) name on (narrow) charge slips, and they're cheap and readily available -- about $3/pair at Wal-Mart just down the street from the house.

Being retractable, there's no cap to lose, so no jabbing me in the leg nor staining the inside of my pockets. Better still, if I accidentally run them through the wash, which I've done twice, while they no longer write, they also don't leak.
