I guess I got a fair bit done today. The PA speaker is mounted behind the car's grille, and the wiring is run to the passenger compartment. I need to pick up an inline fuse for the power line, build an extension cable for the mic, and patch in some switches before I can close things up. But it works in a test configuration. The dash mount is on order for the cell HFK and the iPod cradle.

For now, the iPod will still run through the cassette deck. Information on the 2002 Saturn stereos (made by Panasonic now) is very scarce, and hardware almost nonexistant. There's an adapter out (the AAI-GM12) that lets you patch into the aux input if you have a factory slave unit installed (like the DVD player,) but it won't work independently. I'm gonna order the factory service manuals on Monday to see if I can figure out how to make that work anyways. (PAC makes a version for the older radios that does this, so I think it's gotta be possible.) If I'm lucky, I might be able to figure out how to patch the HFK into the OnStar port on the radio, too.

I'll get the ham rig back up sometime, probably after I get back from home. Punching another power line through the firewall's gonna be a bitch, but it has to be done. I can't "borrow" 50 watts off somebody else's circuit.
