What makes this teh awesum is how there is apparently no one within the city of San Francisco to defend the man. The argument against it and the rebuttal to the argument in favor actually strengthen the case. The writer agrees he's a bad guy, and even suggests that conservative commentator George Will wants to get freaky with him. He calls this attempt "name calling", and closes it, "Besides, if we name the local sewage plant after Bush, then what's left to name after Jesse Helms?"
(I'm thinking, an HIV treatment program. That's fitting, given how strongly Helms railed against that.)
