Glencoe hax0r gets The Chair - Jason Lindquist
Idle ramblings of an idle mind
Glencoe hax0r gets The Chair
...the Comfy Chair, that is.

New Trier grad and incoming UIUC ECE frosh Jonah Greenthal pled guilty to misdemeanor computer tampering in exchange for a sentance of one year's court supervision, 50 hours of community service, and court costs. I still think criminal charges are overkill, but as long as NT admin is going to be a bunch of douchebags, that's really the best you can hope for. Five gets you ten he'll petition to have it expunged in a couple of years and succeed. The school left him suspended for the rest of the year, but let him finish his work and gave him his diploma, even if they kept him out of prom and graduation. (Previously...)

Why get it expunged?

for his first job out of college it'll actually be in his favor: talent ANDF initiative, and a healthy unorthodoxy. Great guy to hire into a start-up.

Why get it expunged?

Standard application question: "Have you ever been convicted of a crime?"

A criminal conviction limits your options. There are doors that will stay closed, because most suits will ask "why take the risk?" and hire someone else with a clean record.
