The axe has fallen
As expected, Mercury started laying people off this week. There's been a big reorganization in progress, subsequent to the company posting another loss and missing its targets. Out of the 80 cuts companywide, at least 8 are in my office, including me. The cuts in Chelmsford were announced on Wednesday, we got the news on Thursday. I still have a job until the end of June, to aid in the reorg transition. I'll be taking the summer off. So I'm looking for a new software gig, to begin September 3rd in/around northern San Diego county.

Keep on rockin' Linky

Don't know if you recall the brothers dougherty from GBN days, but we have both recently stumbled upon your blog...sad to hear about the layoff, but loving the rules for scorekeepers. I'm living in China at the moment (andrew), and will is in DC. Hope you're well...

Re: Keep on rockin' Linky

Of course I do... I do occasionally wonder what happened to you guys! I know your missions interrupted college in a way that the Navy doesn't seem to handle gracefully, but I never heard if you both got back in and finished.

Really, don't fuss about the layoff, it's an accepted part of life in this profession, and I'm quite happy with the circumstances anyways.

If you see this, reply with an e-mail address, would you? (Anonymous comments are screened by default, so I'll be the only one to see it.)
