This year's deed done

I did my annual nerve-wracking, life-risking project for the year today. This year I wanted end-of-period lights on the basketball backboards. The "ring of fire" style LED sets used in college and the NBA are expensive to buy ($1600 each) and difficult to fabricate sturdily, so I'm just hanging an LED taillight behind the glass. That's 12-volt hardware, so I can run it directly out of the 16VDC port on our shot clocks (via a regulator,) and I don't have to run the wire through conduit.

But I did have to run the wire up and across the backboard support near the ceiling, before stringing it along existing surface pipes to the shot clocks. I can handle the first two levels of the gym scaffold okay, but that third one's a doozy. I don't enjoy heights, and while I've been up on that platform before, I've always sat on it, never stood up. Not fun. But it's done, and I can't think of any reason I'd need to go back up there again. I've sworn off replacing blown lightbulbs.
