Glenbrook North 70, Waukegan 58, final. Scheyer hit a bunch of 3s in the fourth quarter to go from down-1 at the break to up-8. He finished with 48 points. They didn't hit free throws as well as I would like, but it was good enough to roll into the last two minutes with an 8-10 point lead, forcing Waukegan into panic mode.

I'll arriving at Midway about 9:30 Thursday night and heading straight down to Peoria. If people are going to be around, I may pass through C-U Sunday for lunch. I'll be staying with the folks in Wadsworth 'till my noontime Tuesday departure.

We should have a good crowd this year. Last time around (2003,) spring break started the weekend of the tournament, so all the kids came down on Friday, but Saturday was when they all left for warmer climates, leaving a very anemic crowd for the semifinal and third place game. This year, spring break starts next (Easter) weekend. Nobody's leaving town, there's no reason not to stay/come back Saturday if we win Friday's quarterfinal (6:30pm vs. Brother Rice.)

I'm disappointed New Trier lost to Crane last night. I would've liked to see another conference school downstate. It sounds like they had a hell of a run though. 12-14 going into the playoffs, and they reach the round of 16. Yet another data point on the side of why I don't like non-football playoff schemes that don't include all teams.
