So the Shrub administration forced San Diego US Attorney Carol Lam to resign. Popular opinion is that it's retaliation for taking down former congressman Duke Cunningham, and continuing to follow money to the Republican political donors who bribed him. It's also widely believed that this whole purge also serves to make room for Shrub toadies. The administration insists this isn't true, that Lam was lax in prosecuting illegal immigration crimes in her district.
