"It would explain a great many things"

My homeowner's association bill showed up today. In it was an attached notice explaining that our contracted termite control outfit had suddenly gone out of business. That would explain why they never gave notice of, let alone showed up for, the treatment appointment they were supposed to do at the beginning of September. (I kept not-getting-around to calling the HOA manager to ask if something was wrong, or if they forgot about me again.)

I can't say I'm sorry to hear they're gone. Over the last three years, I've had to call their office about a dozen times about inspection appointments, and only twice did I ever get a promised return call. On one occasion, they completely blew off a scheduled inspection, and the same woman I spoke with to set it up then claimed there wasn't any record of it.

Strategic Election Voting

I've said before I'm not happy with where this recall election has wound up, in the same choice between bad or worse as the last general election. And somewhere along the way (though I can't find the reference) I thought I'd said that California gets the government it deserves.

But most Californians don't realize that. I think it has to get worse before it gets better, in order for that fact to register. I think I should help that along. So I decided I'm voting for the recall and for Ahnold next week.

This is just way too silly not to buy:

Frosh won their football game today, and they played pretty well. God willing the JV and varsity will do the same tomorrow. They practiced well last night, but you never know. And I still gotta get my ESPN feed going...
