Back in SD again

The return trip took four and a half hours, which strikes me as unusually short. I really don't think I was speeding--particularly on CA-127 from Shoshone to Baker. You had to watch for flooded sections. Oh, and when you see a permanently mounted "Flooded" sign (the kind that can be twisted back and forth to control its visibility,) they really mean it. I hit a big flood puddle at about 50 MPH, after braking down from 70 a little too late. The force was nearly enough to stop my car (momentumwise, it wasn't deep enough to kill the engine.) I really need a car wash right now. The rain on I-15 through San Bernardino couldn't do the whole job.
