Home again (sorta)

We sat for an hour waiting to take off. I'm not sure if this was because of additional spacing due to turbulance surrounding McCarran (one of the roughest landings I've had in years,) or if I understood another passenger's cell conversation when we landed at O'Hare that Shrub fucked things up with his presence. As we learned in "20 Hours In LA", it's bad form to fuck with people's lives by shutting down their transportation. The right choice would have been fucking Nellis AFB, just the other side of town.

IDOT has taken to doing minor tollway repairs at night, which I'm glad to see.

The Loop did me a favor and started playing "Fight For Your Right (To Party)" as I got through the Touhy Av. toll plaza, so it was still on as I crossed into Northbrook. What's fucking weird is it's only 60 degrees out. Second week of August, it should be 90 degrees and 90% humidity. It's damned pleasant.

(Let me again restate that use of the flamenco cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" in the snowy garden fight scene in Kill Bill is beyond fucking brilliant. I only hope that if the day comes that I should be forced to whup some monumental ass, someone will have the insight to play this in the background.)

As always, it feels like I never left...
