Julian is still standing at the moment. They've been defending it all night. I watched on TV this morning as a CDF helicopter dropped water on a house. After the copter left, fire broke through the roof outside the area that got wet. The fire quickly stretched from the front to the back of the house, following a path about eight feet wide. The copter returned a couple of minutes later and made another drop. The water fell straight down the fire line and extinguished it.

Air quality yesterday in Escondido: 738 micrograms per square meter. By comparison, that figure was 90 late Sunday.
