I'm home - Jason Lindquist
Idle ramblings of an idle mind

I'm home
The house is still standing. I'm packing things up. I am NOT yet under an evac order. The other side of Community Park is, but I'm not yet. I'll go when the call comes, if not sooner.

The SD Polo Club and Del Mar Fair are full of animals, they aren't taking any more. The Poway Rodeo is within the new evac area, but people are being told not to remove their animals from there. They don't expect it to burn, just for a lot of smoke.

...good luck, Linky. If there's anything I can do to help, somehow, let me know...

...data backups come to mind.

I got that covered. :-)

I have a third drive in the box which is the rented space for a friend's laptop backup space and home directory, it's vastly empty. I backed up the entire rest of the filesystems to it, pulled it, and left. The desktop Mac and the MythTV box, I just picked up and put in the trunk. Never underestimate the bandwidth of a Saturn with a trunk (half-) full of disk?

Yikes! How scary! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you don't need to evacuate!

I don't need to, but I did it anyway, just to save the headache of a 3am wakeup call courtesy of the Sheriff's department. (Which I still doubt would come, but why worry?)

Besides, the air's a bit clearer in Mira Mesa.
